So, I meant to write about how this went a while back … before I got some much needed beach time.
Before I headed south, I had a “playdate” at Cousler Park in Manchester Township with new Smart Magazine editor April Trotter.
It kind of fits along the lines with my ideaLab project of getting out there in the public more and encouraging others to do the same.
We decided it might be fun to get some work done and meet some local moms before school started up for the fall.
Check out the Storify April created by clicking here. It pretty much explains what went on.
Oh, and here’s her blog about how it went.
What I learned:
1. Don’t make your mobile newsroom a place that is prone to bee attacks. We had several of them practically landing on our iPads!
2. Bring goodies. Our table of coloring books and Smart swag really helped to bring ‘em in.
3. Promote. Promote. Promote. Online. On the YDR Facebook. Everywhere.
Here are some of the photos I took of the experience:

Here’s the set up. Smart Magazines and lots of swag. We promised water bottles to the first five visitors.
